Empowering Kids to Shine Through Basketball!

Basketball Kids offers a fun and supportive kids basketball program where kids can build skills, confidence, and teamwork through beginner basketball training sessions designed for all skill levels.
The Mission
This basketball program welcomes children who are new to the game as well as those looking to develop their skills. Boys and girls are all welcome. We offer age-appropriate basketball for two groups:
Elementary School Children (Ages 5-9)
Sessions for elementary school children are less intensive than those for middle school students. Younger players take part in fun activities that build basic basketball skills, coordination, teamwork, and confidence. Since the basketball hoops may be too high for most kids to shoot basketballs, other games and activities will be included until we can acquire portable basketball hoops
Middle School Students (Ages 10-14)
For middle school students, we plan to organize full-court games with an adult on each team. Participants will also take part in more advanced activities, including basketball drills, team games, and skill-building exercises.
*While we will be instructing on basketball, this program is not designed to prepare children to become future athletes. The primary focus is on enjoyment and engagement!
The program is expected to begin around March, when warmer weather and more suitable conditions allow activities to get underway. It will continue through the year until temperatures become too high (being that this is held outdoors). Activities will resume in September and run through November. A summer program is not currently scheduled, but may be considered as a long-term option, as we are interested in renting a basketball gym.
Update: If you have a 9-year-old child who is a confident basketball player and ready for a more challenging experience, you can choose to have your child play with the kids in the 10–14 age group. This option may be a good fit if your child has the skills and confidence to participate comfortably with the older players.
If you have a 10-year-old child who is new to basketball or still learning how to play, you can choose to have that child register with the younger kids instead. The 5–9 age group is typically made up of smaller children and may provide a more comfortable place for beginners to learn the basics, build confidence, and enjoy playing. If you are unsure which group would be the best fit for your child, please get in contact with us before signing up so we can help you choose.
UPDATE! This is for the 5–9 age group. We have decided to offer Saturdays with just basketball, followed by some Saturdays featuring a possible mix of basketball and other activities. These activities may include games, physical fitness exercises, a variety of obstacle courses, and team play. Before registering, please check whether the day you are interested in is listed as “Basketball” or “Team Play Activities” so you know what to expect. We want to mix things up so kids stay engaged and have fun trying new things.
Make sure to sign up to our Facebook group to be notified of updates about events and activities.

At Basketball Kids, we aim to create a welcoming space where children can learn, grow, and have fun playing basketball.

While basketball is the focus of this program, some days also feature a mix of games and activities, including obstacle courses, agility ladders, jump rope, ring toss, and fun challenges designed for children ages 5–9. These lively extras keep everyone moving, encourage teamwork and confidence, and make every session enjoyable.
